Искусство Сантьяго Рехидора (Santiago Regidor Gómez; 1866–1942) обращено к глубинам души человека, не потерявшего способности к чувственному и трепетному восприятию окружающей нас жизни. Избегая эклектизма, но открытый к восприятию новых смыслов, художник, на фундаменте академических норм, построил совершенное и равновесное здание в эстетике реализма. Переосмысленные идеи костумбризма, анекдотического реализма и итальянского веризма, маэстро скрепил символическим содержанием с "искусства новым светом". Синтезируя среду и окружение в композицию, в которой интерпретации и сочетания мотивов становятся продолжением содержания, наполнил повествовательную структуру глубиной, одухотворенностью и новым философским смыслом.

The art of Santiago Regidor Gómez (1866–1942) is addressed to the depths of the soul of a person who has not lost the ability to sense the fascinating diversity of life around us. Avoiding eclecticism but open to the perception of new meanings, the artist, on the foundation of academic norms, built a perfect and balanced building in the aesthetic of realism. The maestro consolidated the reinterpreted ideas of Spanish costumbrismo, realismo anecdótico and Italian verismo with symbolic content. By synthesising the environment and surroundings in a perfect composition, in which interpretations and combinations of motifs become a continuation of the content, he filled the narrative structure with depth, spirituality and a new philosophical meaning.

Сантьяго Рехидор Гомес (Santiago Regidor Gómez; 1866–1942) — испанский художник: пейзажист, анималист, иллюстратор и профессор Института Сан-Исидро (San Isidro). Учился в Специальной школе живописи, скульптуры и гравюры при Королевской академии изящных искусств Сан-Фернандо в Мадриде ([Escuela de Bellas Artes / Escuela Nobles Artes] Escuela Especial de Pintura, Escultura y Grabado en la Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando [Real Academia de las Tres Nobles Artes]), где был учеником легендарного пейзажиста Карлоса де Хаэса (Carlos de Haes). В 1890 году продолжил обучение в Испанской академии изящных искусств в Риме (Academia Española de Bellas Artes de Roma). Выставлял свои работы на Национальных выставках и был отмечен в 1895 и 1897 годах. Проявив себя истинным художником-композитором, Сантьяго Рехидор иллюстрировал журнал "Бланко и негро" с 1900 по 1936 год.

Santiago Regidor Gómez (1866–1942) was a Spanish artist: a landscape painter, animal painter, illustrator, and professor at the San Isidro Institute. He studied at the School of Painting, Sculpture, and Engraving at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando in Madrid ([Escuela de Bellas Artes / Escuela Nobles Artes] Escuela Especial de Pintura, Escultura y Grabado en la Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando [Real Academia de las Tres Nobles Artes]), where he was a student of the legendary landscape painter Carlos de Haes. In 1890, he continued his studies at the Spanish Academy of Fine Arts in Rome (Academia Española de Bellas Artes de Roma). He exhibited his works at National Exhibitions and was awarded distinction in 1895 and 1897. Santiago Regidor illustrated the magazine Blanco y Negro from 1900 to 1936, where he proved himself to be a true artist-composer: bringing scenes to life, he inscribed the characters' figures into an expressively organized environment that provided scale and mood, creating graphic miniatures with a clear narrative structure.
